| Most cemeteries recommend or require vaults to be used in ground burial spaces. If you prefer a mausoleum or lawn crypt, then a vault is not necessary. The primary reasons to use a vault is to protect the casket from the weight of the earth above crushing it and causing the gravesite to "sink".
Cashner Funeral Home and Cemeteries recommends and uses Wilbert Vaults. Wilbert vaults come in a variety of materials and workmanship. You can see some samples to the left.
The strongest and finest Wilbert Burial Vault is triple-reinforced with a concrete core, high-impact ABS interior and ABS Marbelon® exterior. Meticulously engineered and handcrafted, the quality of this vault has never been duplicated. The elegant contemporary design with the solid, die-cast bronze nameplate makes this vault a treasure.
The finest double-reinforced Wilbert® burial vault available. Both the cover and the base are reinforced with high-impact ABS Trilon® and bronze. The bronze hard outer covering adds beauty and strength and is embellished with accent bars and special emblems.

both the cover and base are reinforced with high-impact ABS Trilon® and stainless steel on this vault. The brilliance of the stainless steel cover really stands out under the emblem and accent bar.
